The Community Center shares the building with the Sleepy Eye Chamber of Commerce which is located directly north of City Hall at 115 2nd Avenue NE. ​

Rental Rates for Sleepy Eye Community Center

 Small Conference Rooms only
(Maximum Occupancy 15-20)
$25 for any event

Rental fees are non-refundable.
Pick up the key 24-48 hours prior to event, Monday-Friday, 7:30-4:00 at City Hall.
Return the key to City Hall the next business day or return the key in the drop box on the west side of the City Hall.

Rules for Renting the Community Center:

Renter Supervisory Responsibility:
  • Alcohol is allowed in the Community Center. It is the responsibility of the renter to monitor the use of alcohol. No alcohol is served to minors. (Note: the Community Center is 50 feet from the Police Station)
  • Report any problems or if anything was broken.
  • Do not allow children to run outside of the building. Supervise children inside and outside of the building and this includes the restrooms.
  • Respect the contents, framed pictures, and office spaces in the entire Community Center.
  • The small office rooms are not included for use unless they are rented for $25.00.
  • Decorations are NOT allowed to be taped or hung from the ceiling or on the walls. You may use freestanding table or floor decorations.
  • Please follow the rules posted in the kitchen. There are items in the kitchen available for your use and may not leave the building. It’s your responsibility to clean and wash the tables and counters. Please leave the soiled towels by the sink area. Take all leftover food and beverage containers from the refrigerator with you. Wipe all spills and sweep the floor.
Restricted Areas:
  • The front area of the building is off limits. This space is used for Chamber of Commerce & CVB only.
  • Use of the handicap accessible front entrance is allowed.
  • Office equipment is not for public use. There are no long-distance phone lines available.
Renter Cleaning Responsibility:
  • If you have not adequately cleaned up, or if there were repairs needed for any damage, the costs associated with renter’s failure to abide by facility rules, the renter is responsible for additional costs.
  • The City of Sleepy Eye reserves the right to deny future building rental if the above criteria are not met or respect of the property is not maintained.
  • Please follow the rules posted in the kitchen. It’s your responsibility to clean and wash the tables and counters. Please leave the soiled towels by the sink area. Take all leftover food and beverage containers from the refrigerator with you. Wipe all spills and sweep the floor.
  • Please return tables and chairs back in the order found in the room and/or storage closet. Do not slide tables or chairs across the floor. Lift the tables and chairs as you move them.
  • Take all garbage and recycling out to the dumpsters located on the NE corner of the city building located south of the Community Center.
  • Turn off all lights and lock the doors when leaving.
  • Return the key to City Hall the next business day or return the key in the drop box on the west side of the City Hall.
