Frequently Asked Questions at the Library
How do I get a Library card?
Can I borrow materials not found at the Dyckman Free Library?
Patrons looking for materials should first use the TdS library catalog, which is a shared catalog of 30+ member libraries that provide borrowers access to an extensive collection of resources. The catalog may be used in the Library, at home or anywhere you have internet access. Patrons may also call the Dyckman Library to request materials. There are several ways to borrow books outside of your library. Please contact us if you cannot find a book that you want. We would be happy to try and secure it for you.
How long can I keep my materials?
• 3 weeks for books
• 7 days for Movies (DVDs) and other media items
Items are automatically renewed, or can be renewed (if there are no holds) by accessing your account online or contacting the library.
Can I return items after hours?
Items may be placed in the book return located in the entryway of the library. Items marked as "too fragile" or "too large" for the book return must be returned when the Library is open.
Can I return items checked out at Dyckman at another Public Library?
YES you can! Items checked out from any Traverse des Sioux Library Cooperative location may be returned to any of the member libraries. Items may be returned in person or through a book drop.
